about us
ABOUT US
Igniting Possibilities Initiative is a community-led, not-for-profit organisation serving Rochdale. Our purpose is simple and charitable:
the prevention or relief of poverty. We support local residents experiencing hardship with immediate help such as emergency food and essentials and with practical pathways that rebuild stability, dignity and hope.
We work alongside people facing low income, sudden crisis, digital exclusion or barriers to services. Our team provides welcoming triage, weekly food support, mentoring and confidence building, children’s homework support, and digital skills so adults can access benefits, healthcare and jobs online. Where specialist input is needed, we signpost to trusted partners for benefits checks, debt advice, housing and immigration matters (we do not provide FCA-regulated or OISC immigration advice).
Everything we do is free, confidential and needs-led. We prioritise safeguarding, data protection and equality of access, and we invest in volunteer training so support is safe and consistent. By collaborating with local charities, schools, faith groups and the council, we avoid duplication and maximise impact for the public benefit.
Our vision is a Rochdale where no one is left behind because of poverty. Our promise is practical help today, and meaningful opportunities for tomorrow one neighbour, one family, one step at a time.
